Pail Ale

pail aleThis one takes me back to last summer, on a pontoon boat on Bass Lake, near Pentwater, MI.  Some of the best memories of my life happened there.  I digress.  The next time you are on a pontoon boat on Bass Lake, near Pentwater, MI, I recommend you try a Pail Ale from Schmohz Brewing Company, Grand Rapids, MI.  Pail Ale is a 5.2% ABV brew that pours honey-colored and hazy, and is well carbonated.  Head is of the single layer variety and laves some lacing.  The floral hops come through first in the nose, with some mild caramel aromatics and a hint of sulphur.  Pail Ale has a creamy mouthfeel and there is a good dose of bitterness in the finish.  There’s a grainy vibe and an overall sweetness that bring all of the elements of Pale Ale into harmonic state.  It’s good.

80/100 American pale ale
