Magnetron Schwarzbier Lager

Do you want an easy drinking Black Lager, something along the lines of a Kostritzer, but brewed closer to home?  Try Metropolitan Brewing Company’s (Chicago, IL) Magnetron Schwartzbier Lager.  Magnetron pours deep brown with a generous beige head, and plenty of lacing decorates the sides of the glass as the level drops.  The bouquet is toasty, yeasty and earthy, in equal and appropriate measures.  There is a mild coffee taste, maybe some semi-sweet or dark chocolate and a little more earthy yeast when you drink the slightly warming beer.  Light-bodied, smooth-textured, creamy, mellow, very drinkable and a nice beer for a cold evening, if you’re looking for something that’s not overly strong and warming.  5.6% ABV, 30 IBUs, 100% delicious.

Drink local.
