Dark Star Stout

Here’s another one I tried in Nashville, Dark Star Stout by Starr Hill Brewery in Crozet, VA.  This can be found in the mid-Alantic and Southeast states and is distributed by Anheuser-Busch.  This stout was black as night and sported a rich, frothy head that made it look like an ice cream shake minus the cherry.  Good coffee whiffs in the bouquet and lots of clingy lace.  The texture was good, not as heavy as I had expected and it had a bit of a tang and a sharpness to it.  The finish was not very dry, surprisingly and over all it is a very good stout.  It reminds me of bottled Guiness, as opposed to the pub draft Guiness.  80/100
