Double Wide IPA

Double Wide IPAfrom Boulevard Brewing is deep amber, well-carbonated, has some suspended particles and a head that won’t quit.  It’s a good 2″ of root beer

float-like froth.  Pine and apricot notes (just like it states on the label) in the bouquet and a little papery at the end.  Brussels lace absolutely paints the sides of the glass and it doesn’t slide down, it sticks.  Sweet and malty, but dry and hoppy at the same time.  Grapefruit peel, caramel, they are there too.  The alcohol at 8.5% ABV and the hops dry the finish, and the hop resin remains on the palate for a good long time.  A very nice brew from Boulevard’s Smokestack Series.
