Brooklyn Lager

I have read a lot about Brewmaster Garret Oliver and have seen his products in liquor stores for a long time, but have just now tried one of them.  Brooklyn Lager is that product, and is based on a pre-Prohibition recipe.  It pours deep gold-orange from the 12 oz. can with a slight haze, big frothy head and tons of lacing.  Not a lot of carbonation is evident in the beer.  The bouquet is hoppy and clean, but the flavor tends toward the sweeter side, with a possible hint of berry.  I can taste grain in the finish and some hops in the distant finish (and in the final belch).  Think of it as a better Boston Lager.  85/100.  I look forward to more Brooklyn beers!
