Maudite by Unibroue is medium brown and well-carbonated, and pours with a nice big head that soon becomes a single layer of splotchiness.  The bouquet is tart and spicy, sharp and yeasty, with a touch of black pepper and carmel.  Smooth, creamy and fizzy all at once, a pleasure on the tongue.  Mild clove notes and very drinkable for an 8% ABV Belgian-style brown.  A fair bit of sweetness in the finish, and on the whole a good beer, typical for Unibroue!  Be sure to follow the link to the brewer’s website to learn the legend of the Maudites.  78/100
