Perseus Oatmeal Pale & Moondance IPA

Man, this one was hard to figure.  Available at Lunar Brewing Company in Villa Park, IL, Perseus Oatmeal Pale was really great.  The bouquet was interesting in the good way, difficult to describe adequately, possibly to the quantity of the oatmeal, I don’t know, but there was some sweetness and a fresh grainy quality to it.  Super smooth, amber in color, lightly carbonated but not flat, decent lacing, light hops and little head retention.  I truly enjoyed this and will surely take another crack at it next time.

Their Moondance IPA was hazy, copper colored, kind of headless, but still adequately carbonated.  The bouquet was as malty as it was hoppy initially, but the hops took over shortly after pondering the first whiff.  There was certainly a lot more hops to follow in the flavor.  Dry, bitterish, no lacing, yeasty, homebrewy…OK, but Perseus kicked butt.
