Left Hand Milk Stout

Left Hand Brewing Company in Longmont, CO is the home of brewing geniuses (genii?).  Milk Stout is deep black with a brown head (no tans or beiges, this is full-on brown) and the sides of the glass are awash in thick lace.  This beer almost smells like chocolate cake batter.  It is smooth and creamy with light coffee and heavy cream notes, some yeast and a faint bitterness.  Not much of an alcohol presence in the bouquet despite being 6.0% ABV.  Well-balanced, complex without being overbearing and a staple for enduring coming cold weather.  Get this beer!    95/100
