beerbliographer’s rule #1…

…is don’t serve craft beer ice cold.  If you serve beer that’s too cold you won’t taste it.  For Old Style that’s probably OK.  For Ommegang Three Philosophers it’s definitely not OK.  All those complex flavors and subtleties go away if the beer is too cold.  Miller High Life in a cooler full of ice = OK.  Boulevard Tasting Room Mid-Coast IPA = not OK.  If you just pulled a bottle of Urban Legend’s Cold War Russian Imperial Stout out of a washtub full of ice at a rave in an abandoned malted milk factory, pour it and wait 20 minutes, wouldja please?  Don’t be a palooka or a Philistine.  OK?  OK!
