Summer Wit

Summer Wit from Wild Onion Brewing Co., Lake Barrington, IL, pours a beautiful straw color with a thick head.  It’s plenty cloudy and fizzy as well.  The bouquet is clean with hints of citrus and spices.  Summer Wit is bitter at first, and rather thin-bodied.  There is some sweetness, and then more bitterness.  It’s a good beer, not remarkable, but good.  What I really like about it is that it is brewed in the Chicago metro area at The Onion Pub & Brewery, so I am able to visit and try the rest of their brews in the near future.  Interesting that the beer is canned rather than bottled for local distribution.
