Columbus Brewing Company Pale Ale

The Pride of Central Ohio

This copper-colored ale has a slight haze, produces a sparse head and has minimal visible carbonation.  Columbus Brewing Company Pale Ale has a bouquet that is mainly hoppy with a hint of citrus and a light whiff of alcohol, yet the malt quality does come through as a mild, kid’s cereal kind of sweetness.  This pale ale is medium-bodied, and it is sharp at first, mellowing rather quickly.  The hops are again more prominent in the taste, but they are not at all overpowering.  The finish is dry, but the maltiness makes its presence known in the form of a mildly sweet, egg twist bread kind of manner in the final exhale.  A better than average pale ale for sure, but too bad it is is a regional brew.  Central Ohio, count your blessings.
